One
of our goals at Fairyland is to encourage young
children to discover the joys of reading,
because early exposure to stories and books is
one of the surest predictors of school readiness
and educational success. Thanks to this funding,
we’re able to offer access to our unique park to
low-income Alameda County children who would
otherwise be unable to afford admission.
In addition, our
Outreach grant allows us to subsidize field
trips to Fairyland for preschools, day-care
programs, and other organizations that serve
low-income preschool, kindergarten and early
school aged children. Families and caregivers
can enjoy the field trips as well. In many
instances, transportation, Magic Keys, and
educational sessions are included in the field
trips.
If you believe
your organization qualifies for a
subsidized field trip
to Fairyland, please contact us at
outreach@fairyland.org. Please be
aware of these conditions:
- Your
organization must serve qualified low income
children in the specified age range.
- Your
organization would not otherwise be able to
afford to come to Fairyland.
- You must
be located in Alameda County.
