Party Areas

Choose a private party area

Host your child’s birthday party with a two-hour rental in one of our secluded party areas. All party areas are cleaned and sanitized before and after your event! Now that children 6 months through 5 years have the ability to be vaccinated masking at Fairyland is optional, except in the Fairyland gift shop, where they will still be required. 

Cinderella

Cinderella Party Area ~ Capacity 50 guests

With beautifully painted panels depicting the story of Cinderella, a large pumpkin, and a private glass slipper slide, this area will truly make you feel like royalty!

 

Circus

Circus Party Area ~ Capacity 50 guests 

With playful wooden cutouts of Circus animals performing various tricks and vinyl panels below a large tent, this space will make you feel like you’re celebrating under the Big Top!

 

TeaGarden

Japanese Tea Garden ~ Capacity 30 guests

With a bright red archway that leads to colorful murals of Japanese folktale characters, its central location between Emerald City Stage and the Puppet Theater will ensure party guests never miss a show!

Oswald the Bubble Elf & Me Package - $410/$370 for Fairyland members (for 10 children and 10 adults)

 Willie the Whale Party Package $490/$445 for Fairyland members (for 12 children)

Party FAQs

When are birthday parties available?

Fairyland hosts birthday parties January through November. 

A birthday at Fairyland includes the rental of a party area and the admission for 10 to 12 children and 10 to 12 accompanying adults. A la carte add-ons are available for an additional cost.  

 

How much does a Fairyland birthday party cost?

Birthday party packages start at $410 for 10 children ($370 for Fairyland members). Full payment is required by the Friday before your child’s Birthday party. 

There are no party refunds unless Fairyland closes because of unforeseen circumstances, like inclement weather. All prices are subject to change without notice.

 

How do I book a birthday party?

Book online. It's the fastest way to book your child’s special day. After you register online, someone from our Family Events team will email you to finalize your booking and confirm your party details. Your reservation is only confirmed once you have received a detailed confirmation from our Events team. Alternatively, you can phone the Family Events team to book your party at (510) 929-3531.

Due to the high volume of calls and inquiries we receive, it may take up to 72 hours to confirm your booking. Also, please be patient, our Family Events team is out of the office every Monday and Tuesday. 

Please note that we cannot book parties or give tours on a drop-in basis

 

Will my credit card be automatically charged when I submit my form?

Nope! You will get a final invoice by email after you confirm all of the party details.

 

Do I receive a discount if I am a Fairyland member?

Yes! Fairyland members get a discount on all party packages once your membership is verified.

 

Can I add extras?

Yes! For an additional cost, we are happy to provide extra items to give all your guests the full Fairyland experience!

  • Favor bags
  • Balloons
  • Additional adult admissions
  • Food from our on-site cafe

 

What isn’t allowed?

Fairyland does not permit:

  • Glass containers of any kind
  • Helium tanks
  • Alcoholic beverages of any kind
  • Vaping or smoking
  • Open flames or heating devices (no barbeques, chafing dishes, portable grills or generators)
  • Lit candles. Fairyland will provide candles and lighters on request. But for safety reasons, we can’t have lit candles without a staff member present. 
  • Piñatas, sidewalk chalk, confetti and silly string (These items are harmful to Fairyland’s animals.)

 

Where do I park?

Parking is available on Bellevue Avenue, near Fairyland’s entrance. On Saturdays and Sundays, the City of Oakland charges a parking fee of $5 per car. On Sundays, street parking is free. 

 

Can I pull up to the main gate to unload my car?

Sorry, no! You may not unload or park your vehicle on the service road adjacent to Fairyland. We suggest that you bring a wagon to transport anything you’re bringing to the party.

 

I don’t know exactly how many children will attend. May I add guests later?

Yes. You may add extra children and adults at a later time after booking your party. Guest totals are due the Friday the week prior to your scheduled party.

 

Is the birthday child included in the total number of children?

Yes. Please remember to count your birthday child in the total number of children; we don’t want to forget the most important guest!

 

Do you offer full catering?

Yes! We do offer catering options. Our catering is offered at an affordable price, and, best of all, we do everything for you.

What happens if it rains?

Park closures due to inclement weather are based on safety considerations. You will receive a call from us as soon as the decision has been made to close the park.

You’ll then have three options:

  1. Reschedule your party at Fairyland 
  2. Pick up your party items so you can host your party elsewhere and receive a refund for your park entrance fee. Each ticket has a value of $17 per child (ages 1-17) and $19 per adult (ages 17+).
  3. Cancel your party. You will receive a refund, minus a $25 processing fee.

 

May we bring our own food?

Certainly. Just remember to keep it simple — you want to have fun too! But, please note that certain items are never permitted in the park: glass containers of any kind, alcohol of any kind, open flames or heating devices of any kind (barbeques, chafing dishes, portable grills or generators), helium tanks, and piñatas. Fairyland does not have a storage space for items prior or post your scheduled party time.

 

How does the guest count work?

One week prior to your scheduled party, tell us the total number of adults and children you’re expecting. We will then send you a QR code to send to your party guests. On the day of the party, someone from our team will meet your entire group at the Fairy Gates to be scanned and checked into the park.

Before You Book

Please book your party six to eight weeks in advance — our party areas fill up quickly!

Before you book using our online system, please decide on the:

  • Date and preferred time for party (most Saturdays and Sundays either 10:30 to 12:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
  • Number of guests (10 child minimum)
  • Party area

After you book your party, you will be contacted by a Family Events team member to finalize your booking and arrange payment. Any à la carte add-ons—including Magic Keys, favor bags, food, themes, and/or balloons—can be ordered during this process.

Once your date is booked, we’ll send you an information packet to assist in planning for your child’s celebration.

Again, Fairyland does not allow:
